  Windhoek – Kalahari Desert

  Upon arrival in Windhoek, you collect your rental vehicle and begin your journey south. You reach the Kalahari, the largest sand mass on earth. Red dunes, endless grass plains and scattered acacia trees define this unique landscape. In the afternoon, you can relax or optionally join a sundowner drive.

  Drive to Fish River Canyon

  You leave the Kalahari behind and continue through vast, rugged landscapes with isolated hills and wide open plains. Along the way, a stop at the quiver tree forest with over 250 of these striking plants is well worth it. By the end of the day, you arrive in the Fish River Canyon region.

  Discover Fish River Canyon

  In the morning, you visit Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. Its sheer scale and dramatic scenery make it one of Africa’s most impressive natural wonders. The rest of the day is yours to relax at your lodge or enjoy optional activities.

  Drive to Lüderitz

  Your journey continues westwards. Passing the Naute Dam, you reach the coastal region. Along the way, you may spot the famous desert horses near Garub. In the afternoon, you arrive in the coastal town of Lüderitz on the Atlantic Ocean.

  Kolmanskop & Southern Namib

  In the morning, you visit the ghost town of Kolmanskop, a fascinating relic from the diamond mining era. Afterwards, you continue into the remote landscapes of the southern Namib, where vastness, silence and untouched nature await.

  Into the Namib Desert

  Today, your route takes you through wide plains and along impressive mountain ranges into the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world. Your accommodation is located near Sesriem, the gateway to Sossusvlei.

  Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

  Early in the morning, you head to Sossusvlei, home to some of the highest dunes in the world. Deadvlei, with its ancient dead trees, is one of Africa’s most iconic landscapes. On your way back, you visit Sesriem Canyon. The afternoon is at your leisure.

  Experience the Namib Desert

  After breakfast, enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Namib Desert. Optional activities include nature drives or sundowner excursions, or simply relax and take in the tranquility of your lodge.

  Drive to Swakopmund

  Today you travel through the Namib-Naukluft National Park towards the Atlantic coast. Along the way, you pass the Welwitschia plains and the so-called Moon Landscape (permit required). In the afternoon, you arrive in Swakopmund.

  Discover Swakopmund

  Today is yours to explore. Swakopmund offers a wide range of optional activities, including boat cruises, dune drives, quad biking or scenic flights over the desert.

• 11

  Return to Windhoek

  After a relaxed breakfast, you drive back to Windhoek via the central highlands. At the airport, you return your rental vehicle and depart with unforgettable memories of Namibia.
