Wildlife in Namib-Naukluft National Park
Namib-Naukluft National Park is not a classic safari destination, yet it is home to a surprising number of animals that have perfectly adapted to life in the desert. Oryx antelopes, springboks and ostriches are commonly seen and move effortlessly through the dry landscape.
Smaller animals such as jackals, foxes and various reptile species also inhabit the park. With some luck, even desert-adapted lions or leopards can be spotted in more remote areas.
What is particularly fascinating is how wildlife survives with minimal water and withstands extreme temperatures – an impressive example of adaptation in one of the harshest environments on Earth.
